The Simple Guide to Kadena Mining
How to Mine Kadena (KDA)? Miner, wallet and pool recommendations.
By Abe Meyer — published July 10, 2022
Kadena is a Layer 1 blockchain solution that allows developers to build ultra-fast and cost-effective applications. It was built with mass adoption as a key goal. During 2021, Solana and Avalanche led the way to drive massive hype to alternative Layer 1 solutions, pushing Kadena price to an all time high of $27.64.
$KDA Token
The KDA token drives the Kadena ecosystem. It is used to pay fees and reward miners for securing the chain. The maximum supply is 1 billion. The circulating supply is 184 million KDA. It seems like there will be a lot of inflation but the timeline for mining is 120 years.
Yes, inflation will happen but on a hundred-year timeline
If Layer 1 coins step into the spotlight once again, KDA miners right now may be hitting the jackpot.
So how do you mine Kadena?
Select a Kadena miner
You can only mine KDA with ASIC miners.
The brand Goldshell offers the largest selection. From highest to lowest hashrate:
- Goldshell KD-Max (40.2Th)
- Goldshell KD6 (29.2Th)
- Goldshell KD5 (18Th)
- Goldshell KD Lite (16.2Th)
- Goldshell KD2 (6Th)
- Goldshell KD-BOX Pro (2.6Th)
- Goldshell KD-BOX (1.6Th)
iBeLink also has some choices:
- iBeLink BM-K1 Max (32Th/s)
The Goldshell KD Lite is currently the most efficient KDA miner in terms of Terrahashes per unit of power consumed.

We recommend the KD-BOX or KD-BOX Pro if you are just starting out, as they are the cheapest of the list. They also have the bonus of being quiet for ASIC miners, and very lightweight.

What Kadena wallet should I choose?
You will need a Kadena wallet for your rewards.
Here are options you can choose from
X-wallet or Zelcore both work fine. X-wallet has a browser extension, and is more like a hot wallet (think metamask).
Zelcore is has a mobile and desktop app. The UX can be finicky, but we found it did the job.
Choose a mining pool
For pools you have the option of poolflare.net, dxpool.com and f2pool.io.
We recommend using poolflare because we've observed lower reject rates (the rate of invalid submissions to the network from the miner).
Adding poolflare
In the miner interface enter the following:
- Protocol: stratum+tcp
- URL : kda.ss.poolflare.com:443
- Username: [ your Kadena wallet addres s]
- Password: [ optional ]
Having trouble finding the miner interface? Take a look at this article.
Note: Poolflare mines to chain 0 so make sure your wallet is a chain 0 wallet.
There you have it! It's easy to mine this amazing layer 1 blockchain coin and the Kadena community is very active. Check it out on discord.
